AI Decision Review · Start here

Should we make this AI investment, and is it the right one?

Weigh the value of each option against its full cost for one pending AI decision, and get an honest answer: proceed, defer, investigate or decline.

In brief

The AI Decision Review is a short, fixed-fee Kalosys engagement for one pending AI decision, such as a vendor proposal, a renewal, a build-or-buy choice or a pilot to scale. It compares the realistic options, weighs the value each can create against its full cost, and ends in a clear recommendation: proceed, defer, investigate or decline.

THE PROBLEM

Why this matters now

Organizations face a steady stream of AI decisions: a vendor proposal, a platform renewal, a build-or-buy choice, a pilot to scale up. Each is often made on a vendor's numbers, without a fair comparison of options, their value, or the full cost of running the result. The wrong commitment is expensive to reverse.

HOW IT WORKS

One decision, one clear answer

Most organizations have a stream of AI decisions to make: a vendor proposal, a renewal, a build-or-buy choice, a pilot to scale. They are often made on the vendor's numbers. The AI Decision Review takes one decision you are facing, compares your options, including what you have today, and weighs the value each can create against the full cost of running it. You get a clear recommendation to proceed, defer, investigate or decline. If the answer is proceed, you also get a priced scope, and if it is no, we will say so.

01 · Fixed fee

Review

  • Define the decision, its owner and the deadline
  • Compare the current arrangement, the proposed option and credible alternatives
  • Estimate the value each option can create and its full cost, including running, data, security and support
  • Check data readiness, risk and ownership after launch

YOU RECEIVE

  • Options comparison of full value against full cost
  • Recommendation: proceed, defer, investigate or decline
  • Priced, deliverable scope if the answer is proceed

02 · Scoped separately

Next step

  • Delivered through the offering the review recommends, such as Pilot to Production or AI Data Readiness
  • Scoped and priced separately; the review can end without a build

YOU RECEIVE

  • Fixed-scope proposal from the recommended offering

03 · Optional

Ongoing

  • Optional bounded retainer to review later AI commitments
  • Or continuing leadership through the Fractional CAIO

YOU RECEIVE

  • Review of each new AI commitment

QUESTIONS

What leaders usually ask

How long does a review take?

It is short and scoped to one decision. We'll confirm the timing.

What do you need from us?

The decision, its owner and deadline, any vendor proposals, and access to the people and cost information involved.

What happens after the review?

If the recommendation is to proceed, it continues through the matching offering with a priced scope. Nothing continues without your approval.

We already have a vendor proposal.

That is a good time for a review. We compare it against your current arrangement and credible alternatives, and add the running, data, security and support costs a proposal often leaves out.

Isn't this just an assessment to sell us more work?

The review can end with a recommendation not to proceed, and any further work is scoped and priced separately. Its value is a decision you can defend.

We can do the comparison ourselves.

Many teams can. What we add is value and full-cost modelling, including infrastructure, data and recovery, and an independent view the board or CFO will trust.
